Compatibility with
Video Devices

Willing Webcam is compatible with most USB-based or FireWire (IEEE 1394) video devices, including webcams, camcorders, TV and video capture cards, TV tuners, Canon digital cameras, and IP network cameras. We also support the pan, tilt, and zoom features of Logitech webcameras.

Motion Detection

Motion detection tuning

1. Motion detection > Enable -> on
2. Select the 'Show motion' check box (temporarily) and erase digital noise with the 'Noise Level' control.
3. The 'Video Device > Video Source > Video Preview Rate' must not be too low. A rate of 10-15 is good.
4. Amount calculations is equal to 'Video Preview Rate' divided by 'Show motion > Frame Rate', so if the 'Frame Rate' is 2, then there will be 5-7 calculations per second.
5. The 'Threshold% > Meter' control will help you to tune the detector's threshold.
6. Use the 'Motion Detection > Crop' feature to decrease false detections. Expand the Crop option and select a crop area by dragging the mouse over the preview window.
7. The 'Motion detection > Actions' features use some options from the corresponding main features. You should select the 'Enable' check box and clear the 'Cycle' one for a main feature if you are going to use the feature instantly by clicking the 'Capture' button or when the motion detection event occurs. Keep the 'Cycle' check box selected if you want both the corresponding features to work at the same time.
8. Note that minimizing the program does not help to reduce the processor workload if the motion detection feature is enabled.
