Hi. I'm currently using my camcorder to Skype. The camcorder works with wide screen resolution (16:9), but I can not select any compatible video modes. How can I set the application to use a 16:9 resolution to broadcast?
Also, it seems that I don't seem to have smooth streaming. Is there any way I can make the video stream smoother (less stuttering)?
Thanks for the replies. Vince |

It's impossible. The connection with a camcorder has a predefined resolution set, which is depends only on the TV format, NTSC or PAL.
Do you see black areas above and below the video?
It is possible to output only part of the video image using the crop ‘Video Device > Video Output > Crop’ options. It would be a good idea to adjust the image size in the program so that it corresponds to the image size in the target software. Skype uses 320x240 resolution. I met also the info that it's possible to set Skype resolution to 480x640 (not via its interface).
There is a settings file in the Skype directory.

I think only by increasing the Internet bandwidth.
If Skype compresses video you can decrease the video quality and Skype will compress video more better. See 'Preferences > Picture Quality > Picture Format > Jpeg Quality'. For easy tuning run 'HTTP server > Run Browser'. You can see image quality in the browser while you are changing the control value, because the preview image will not change. _________________ best regards,
