I found out about Willing Webcam by reading an article by Stephen and Jeffree in the current issue of 'Model Engineer's Workshop', a mag published in the UK by Encanta Media Ltd. They describe how the watermark feature can be used to place a cross-hair or graticule on the live image, so that the webcam can be used for alignment purposes.
The file used for the watermark has to be a PNG file. Suitable files have been made available by these authors on http://www.jeffree.co.uk/Pages/graticules.html . These images look like black gridlines on a grey background: they have been constructed so that the grey disappears when the watermark setup procedure of Willing Webcam is used.
This feature could be of great value in science and engineering, so I decided to post this.
Is there a Willing Webcam printed manual , with this kind of application in it? The FAQ section in the software, and indeed the entire HELP is rather brief for such an excellent and powerful program. _________________ Brad Amos |

What is the best camera (or camera brand) for aspiring photographers? I want to buy a good camera with good photo quality, because I want to try some amateur photography (hopefully progress to professional after I'm done with college), so I need to know the best camera to start out on. I also want to know which is better Canon or Nikon?
