Hi,
just testing Lite version, webcam Logitech C 250.

Two questions:

1) There are no control triangles below the preview window. Why?

2) I managed to have it detect motions and take a video.
But how can I have it show some seconds before
the motion detection, so that I would see what caused the motion?

Thanks in advance and greetings,
Karmin

The lite version has only three cycled features and the motion detection one. Besides it is the reason to buy the full version. You might consider it as a restriction. Although you can find the corresponding buttons above the preview window in the lite version.

Enable the Picture or Time Lapse action too, they start fast.

Thank You for Your prompt reply.

Your software had been recommended by the German computer magazine c't. I anyway consider to buy the full version. Although I am busy using and programming computers, this is my first experience with web cam software. Just want to get an idea how it will work according to my wishes.

Concerning my question on motion detection:
I guess it can be done by setting up a cycle.
Could I anyhow use a video capture cycle and, when a motion is detected, have appropriate video files saved? So that at a later time, when reviewing what happened, I could have some video files showing the events before, during and after the detected motion?
I have to confess I do not fully understand how to work with the cycle feature. I would try it out until success, but maybe You could cut short that process. Just a hint or a small example would be very welcome.

Thanks and greetings,
Karmin

The algorithm is very simple. Every action item under the parent motion detection item has a corresponding feature in the root of the option table. If you want to use only a motion detection action, enable its corresponding feature, but disable its Cycle option. If you want to use them both, enable its corresponding feature and its Cycle option. The action and its corresponding feature will work at the same time in the last case. Calculate a needed recording period. If the period is less than recording time, the program stops a current file and starts a new one.

Video recording needs time to initiate video system, so it passes the first second. You can use other actions that start immediately. The time lapse action records scenes, it means that you will get a video with defined duration after a motion event.
