Was just wondering if there is any reason for the lack of attempt to support the WVC54GC camera?

The WVC5G is quite outdated now and more and more people seem to need help with this new compact cam from Linksys.

Yeah sure, it doesn't use mjpeg but as cams get more advanced, formats change.
Any feedback would be really appreciated

i recently bought the linksys wvc54gc too, and it would be really cool if willing software could support it. i just dont understand why linksys chose to only use activeX without looking at java.

I have added support for the Linksys WVC54GC model.
You may test the beta 4.6 version:
http://www.willingsoftware.com/download/willingwebcam46.exe

I suppose that it should work with WVC200 and WVC54G models as well (Model -> WVC54GC).

If you have webcam stopping after 20 seconds, you should install the latest Windows Media Player.
For XP: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=1D224714-E238-4E45-8668-5166114010CA&displaylang=en

It's annoying that the webcam transfers video with large buffering. It causes 5-seconds delay for 320x240 resolution.
You should avoid to work with 160x128 resolution or in darkness. It needs to wait a couple minutes while you see a webcam image.
