Thanks for your answers yesterday.
Why an/the AVI file is set to default at 34,952 frames? Defaulted by whom?
If I want to do Movie Save continuosly for 4 hours non-stop, does it mean I have to turn-off the Moving Save after 58 minutes and then immediately restart again, thus starting a new AVI file? If so, can't this be done automatically? Can I make an unlimited number of 58 minutes AVI files?
I can't use the time lapse feature because it's for spy surveillance, and the Motion detector is probably too risky.
How much hard drive space does each 58 minutes AVI file take?

By AVI format developers. It's possible to increase this value to 324,000 frames and decrease some other parameters. I really don't know why to create avi file with a long length.

Set 'Movie Save > Streaming Video > Max duration' to 3480 seconds.
But you have to press 'Movie Save' button yourself.

Use only 'Movie Save > Time Lapse' and his sub-options.
It snaps one time per defined period and add a snap to avi file.
To cancel recording just unpress the button Movie Save. You may save
more than 24 hours in one file for the 2 second period and so on.

About 3.5 Gb for avi file with 640x480 frame size and without compression and audio.

Why won't the Max duration feature work, if the Time lapse is checked?
It only works if the Time lapse is not used.
How much time can an AVI file take if I use 320x240 on 10fps? |

There isn't sense to use Max duration feature for time-lapsing.

OK thanks.
Would it be possible to copy a movie (AVI file) from my hard drive to a DVD burner? I understand that a DVD disk has 4.7Gb of space, whereas a CD only has 700Mb...
If not, is there another way to make copies externally? |

The WW hasn't a goal to burn CD or DVD disks.
But the software market has a lot programs that do it.

How much time would it save if 1 second Time lapse is used? Say @ 15 fps and @ 30 fps respectively?
Is it same for both Video For Windows and DirectX? |

Seems, I was wrong a little.
record time : 34,952 * 1 / 60 / 60 = 9,7 hours
playback1 : 34,952 * 1 / 15 / 60 / 60 = 0,65 hours
playback2 : 34,952 * 1 / 30 / 60 / 60 = 0,32 hours

I don't quite understand.... Do you mean that recording on 1 second Time lapse on either 15 or 30fps would take 9.7 hours to reach 34,952? And playback on 15fps will run for 0.65 hours (39 minutes), and playback on 30fps will run for 0.32 hours (19.2 minutes)?
Would 30fps playback give sharper images than 15fps? |
